What is the BCRA?
The British Cave Research Association is a UK-registered charity and constituent body of the British Caving Association. The association aims to support cave and karst research, encourage original exploration, publish speleological information, and organize educational and scientific conferences.

The Grading System
The BCRA Survey Grade system is a two-part classification system that assigns individual ratings to both the line survey and cave passage details; Numbers represent the line survey and letters represent the passage details.
